Jack Daniel's 2005
I had the pleasure of attending, and judging, the 2005 Jack Daniel's World Invitational Competition held in Lynchburg, TN, for the third year In October. Although "The Jack" is always a great time with good fellowship (and a healthy supply of Lynchburg's most famous product) this year was a bit different as I was grilled by a panel of KCBS members that have attained their "Doctorate in Barbeque Philosophy (Ph.B.)" as I underwent two hours of questioning on my barbeque knowledge and philosophy as a Ph.B. candidate.
The verbal inquisition followed the submission of a 39-page written examination and a dissertation (fortunately, the panel accepted "Mastering Barbecue" as my dissertation!
I am now proud to be included in the elite number of KCBS members that have the distinction and honor of adding "Ph.B." to their names!
Hope you enjoy the pictures!
